Dr. Dinjer Shefki...

Dr. Dinjer Shefki is from Cyprus, but grew up in England. He met Dr. Maxine Makinson-Shefki during their first day at Veterinary School in Bristol, England in 1970. He sat next to her and copied all her notes for the next five years, marrying her upon his graduation with honors in 1975. Dr. Shefki also followed with a year of small animal medicine and surgery internship at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School in Philadelphia, and has worked in New Jersey ever since, co-founding the Hawthorne Animal Hospital in 1981 with Dr. Maxine.

Dr. Shefki enjoys both medicine and surgery equally. His love for people as well as pets is
evident in everything he does. “Practicing modern medicine and surgery with old fashioned care and concern” is his motto. He is meticulous and uncompromising of his demands upon himself
and the people he works with. Quality service at a fair price is his daily goal. His outside interests include flying; he is a flight instructor as well as an airline transport pilot. He also loves scuba diving, sailing and all living things great and small.
